Elementary Mini Overnight Camp is a shortened version of our weeklong elementary resident camp. This four day, three night camp is a fun introduction for our first-time or younger campers. Activities are geared with group interaction in mind, so that campers are encouraged to make friends with other group members, and stay busy from morning to night. Most activities are similar to the full week Elementary Resident camp where campers share in activities such as boating, swimming, tree climb, zipline, arts & crafts, hiking, challenge course, campfires, talent show (Thursdays) and more. Campers will meet with the pastor once during their stay to hear stories about Jesus Christ and to ask questions about church and the Bible. This four day, three night camp is a fun introduction for our first-time or younger campers. Come and be a part of the Camp Tekoa experience! Camp Tekoa has a progressive overnight camp program, which encourages campers to engage in age-appropriate activities, allowing them to be challenged physically, mentally, and spiritually year-after-year. Overnight campers learn parallel lessons between these activities and their own personal spiritual walk. It is easy to spend time learning and reflecting in God's natural world and to feel Christ's presence throughout the week. Elementary Day campers are divided, based on their age, into co-ed groups of approximately 12-14 campers and are led by two or more senior staff or staff assistants. Camp Tekoa provides a snack and drink, as well as drinks for lunch.
Elementary Day Camp activities are designed specifically for this younger age group. All activities are conducted on-site and may include nature hikes, scavenger hunts, devotions, challenge course, swimming, paddle boating, arts and crafts, games, songs, zipline and more. Like our overnight camp, all activities are centered on our mission statement of "Touching Hearts, Changing Lives, and Sharing the Light of Christ." Keeping this emphasis helps lift up and encourage our campers in a positive way.
Each day, campers should bring a backpack and the following items: sack lunch (NUT FREE), change of clothes, bathing suit (one-piece for girls), towel, hooded rain jacket, sunscreen, sturdy shoes and a water bottle. Please put your camper's name on sack lunches and other belongings.
