projects to help Camp Tekoa

Camp Tekoa always strives to improve its facilities and program offerings. Our current project is to raise money for our scholarship and general fund. You can help us by making a donation online with our secure server.

Support Camp Tekoa through the Food Lion Shop & Share program

Here's how the Food Lion Shop & Share program works:

  1. If you don't already have one, sign up for your free Food Lion MVP Card at any participating Food Lion store. As a MVP Card member, you'll get special "bonus buys", Buy One Get One FREE items, and special discounts - mailed directly to you.
  2. Link your MVP to Camp Tekoa. Here's how to sign up:
    By Phone:
    1. Call 1-704-633-8250 Ext. 3810
    2. Be prepared to give them your 12-digit Food Lion MVP card number and your name.
    3. Tell them that you want to designate Camp Tekoa in Hendersonville, North Carolina as your beneficiary.
    Through the Internet
    1. Click here to go to the Lion Shop & Share page on the Food Lion web site.
    2. Click on Register MVP Cards in the Lion Shop & Share box.
    3. Click on Select Organization.
    4. Select the State (NC), City (Hendersonville) and Organization (Camp Tekoa) (there will be a pause between each selection).
    5. Click OK.
    6. Click Add MVP Cards.
    7. Enter the requested information and click Next. (Note: remember that your MVP number is 12 digits long, including the first and last numbers).
  3. Buy your groceries at any Food Lion supermarket. Be sure to present your MVP Card to the cashier!
  4. Camp Tekoa gets a direct cash contribution from Food Lion, representing a percentage of your purchase - at no extra cost or hassle to you. Thank you for supporting Camp Tekoa!
  5. Any money that we receive will be used for program expenses and will directly benefit our campers. Program expenses include paddle boats, canoes, life jackets, rock and tower equipment, recreation equipment, nature supplies and equipment, activity and devotional books, etc.

Other projects or fundraisers currently underway:

Our scholarship fund provides tuition assistance for campers who might not otherwise attend camp due to lack of money.

Our general fund provides assistance for a variety of camp needs, from new canoes, life jackets, and other program supplies to staff training materials, cabin repairs, and land purchases.

Any donation can be earmarked for a specific project that is not listed. Just fill in the 'other' description when you get to the online form.
